In addition to being attractive by gathering many programs close to the city centre, the new VIA Campus Aarhus C upgrades the study environment by offering a large and very varied range of possibilities. From varying teaching facilities, small study cells and group rooms, to large auditoriums, open subject squares and multi-purpose halls. At this campus, studies intertwine, and students and teachers alike build relations across disciplines. Every day, new professional and personal synergies emerge as 7,000 students meet across the buildings.

The project consists of a total of five buildings, which are connected via skywalks, allowing the public to move between the buildings. Inside the buildings, the bridges from the first storey and up secure a visual and physical connection throughout the complex. Each building represents a professional expertise. Here, you find sports and exercise, natural science subjects, creative workshop disciplines, drama and music, and a building for the shared canteen, library and student administration. The professional disciplines are connected in vertical clusters, while programs work across storeys, creating interdisciplinary connections between clusters.
VIA Campus Aarhus C has a lot of soul. A soul that is created and defined by every single program, since the robustness and openness of the buildings serve as settings that invite each program to showcase its projects, hang things on walls and display relevant projects. Thereby, users continue working on the buildings, embracing them and adding a special identity to the study environment.
The programming and project development were carried out in parallel in cooperation between VIA, VIA’s users, the turnkey contractor, the plot owner and the entire team of consultants.
