Grejsdalsbroen is more than just a physical connection over Denmark's deepest gorge. The bridge, spanning 128 meters, winds from the buildings on the west side over Grejs Å and the Vejle-Struer railway line through the treetops to “Store Grundet Health Forest” on the east side. With access to the forest, Grejsdalsbroen provides the residents of Vejle with new opportunities to enjoy the unique recreational landscape that the forest offers.

The bridge's design meanders in a soft S-shape across the valley, adding an aesthetic dimension to the surroundings and ensuring a pleasant and inspiring passage for both pedestrians and cyclists crossing the valley. The bridge’s construction and location have been carefully considered to offer a safe and accessible connection between the most optimal points in the landscape.
The bridge is constructed in Corten steel, which, with its brown shades, harmonizes naturally with both the forest's colors and the railway passing beneath the bridge. The railing is constructed of flat steel scepters, angled, and twisted 90 degrees, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow and adding an artistic element. LED strips are integrated into the handrails and illuminate the bridge deck and railing without dazzling neighbors. Thus, Grejsdalsbroen is more than just a passage; it is a destination and a testament to the synergy between engineering, aesthetics, and functionality in modern infrastructure.
The bridge was developed in close collaboration with specialists from CG Jensen, COWI engineers, and Vejle Municipality.
