The international competition was won in co-operation with the Beijing Institute of Architecture and Design (BIAD).
In the major southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, the coming eight years will see the construction of a complete hospital complex with a total size of around 320.000 m². The complex will unite the best in Chinese cultural and health innovations and traditions with our Scandinavian approach to the medical centres of the future.
The Shenzhen People's Hospital will encompass a medical and surgical hospital, a VIP hospital, and training and research facilities in a single structure.
The new hospital complex is categorised as a 'first-class hospital', and possesses the latest and most advanced facilities in the Chinese hospital sector. There is also focus on the implementation of high-tech computer-controlled medical treatment, health services and logistics.
Shenzhen People's Hospital was designed in the simple, elegant and timeless style that characterises Scandinavian architecture and lifestyles.
Besides demonstrating the latest logistical and technical innovations, the hospital complex will display a positive and friendly atmosphere.
