'Lyse Udsigter' ('Bright Prospects'), as the hospital is named, is robust and compact in its organisation, yet possesses optimal logistics and flexibility.
The aim of the architectural design is to create an environment that instils confidence, and in which patients, visitors and staff will all feel that they are important.
The common thoroughfare is the hospital’s main artery. The building is open towards the street, and as the various functions and departments are visible from here, it is easy for patients and visitors to find their way around. From the main thoroughfare there is access to all of the wards, which are oriented towards the view.
The thoroughfare is a bustling public space with traffic at many staggered levels, presenting varied experiences to visitors.
The thoroughfare and the other common areas of the complex offer a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape. Friendly and welcoming architecture, combined with good contact to external areas, underline the complex's clear humane intentions.
