In a little less than two years, the south China boom town Shenzhen will alse have a new and modern hospital 32 storeys high, 113,000sq metres (1. Phase of a total of 320,000 sq metres).
A modern hospital
Shenzhen People's Hospital is based on a modern, visionary and unique concept that combines the best traditions and innovations from the Chinese culture with our Scandinavian approach to the future of health care. The hospital will provide medical, surgical hospital, VIP hospital and combine teaching and research facilities in the same structure.
A floor for the Chinese president
Shenzhen is situated in Guangdong province and has been awarded the status of governmental city by the National Government, a city where the national government convenes occasionaly to ensure contact with the general population. Therefore, the city's new hospital will have an entire floor dedicated to serving the Chinese president. The floor holds a chapel and a number of luxury facilities. Hence the new hospital is categorized as a First Class Hospital. In addition to the Presidential floor the hospital will have special floors assigned to single rooms for special treatment - and general facilities, which correspond to hotel level.
All through the hospital the focus has been on the implementation of high-tech controlled treatment, health and logistics.
The master plan of the hospital and the special interaction between the individual wards will give both patients, staff and guests an experience of quality, peace and high professionalism in the middle of the hectic life of a modern metropolis.
In its design Shenzhen People's Hospital represents an attractive mixture of Scandinavian simplicity and the dynamics of modern China.
