Arkitema, in co-operation with our local partner Arkthing, has been shortlisted as one of two architectural practices under consideration for the commission to refine an opera house in Iceland.
The architectural competition is an invited international competition, and the refined project must be delivered in mid-June. The opera house measures 8,000 m², and must be able to hold up to 700 visitors.
Arkitema is competing against a team composed of the local architectural practice Alark and the New York-based practice David Crossfield Associates, which specialises in theatres and cultural buildings.
