Norre Vosborg chosen to the competition for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2009

9. dec. 2008

Apart from being shortlisted at the World Architecture Awards this year and being chosen as the winner of Holtebro’s Architecture Prize for both restoration and new-building the new Hotel Wing has now been chosen as one of Denmark’s official entries to the competition for the Mies van der Rohe Award one of the most prestigious architectural prizes of the world.

The Danish Association of Architects has nominated Norre Vosborg along with four other Danish projects. The Mies van der Rohe Award is awarded every second year in order to acknowledge and reward architecture of the highest quality that can serve as inspiration and example for other architects through its innovative approach.

Arkitema Architects are very honoured and happy to be nominated for this very well respected and prestigious award. The main prize is set at 50.000 euros – apart from the great honour. Additionally a second prize of 20.000 euros will be awarded and some of the nominated projects will be selected to be published in a catalogue and an exhibition that will tour Europe in 2009.

The jury will convene in December and select the five top projects that will be visited during the spring of 2009 after which the jury will decide who will be the final winner of the prize.

The Mies van der Rohe Award was established in 1987 by the European Commision, The European Parliament and the Mies van der Rohe Foundation.
