Arkitema at Cannes

25. mar. 2008

At the MIPIM fair in Cannes, Arkitema participated in a joint Danish architectural promotion campaign. A total of seven cycling Danish architectural firms contributed to a very different and mobile fair stand

We cycled around Cannes on Christiania bikes with architectural models, and promoted Arkitema's Sluseholm project, handed out Arkitema brochures and gave away small plasticine strips.
The cycling and professional communication attracted a great deal of attention, and proved a good and pleasant way to make new acquaintances in the industry. And at the same time, the bicycles supported the joint theme of the campaign: sustainability.

On Tuesday 11 April, the seven architectural practices held a joint reception at one of the central squares in Cannes. The seven bicycles were placed to form a common front, and speeches were given by Louise Bang Jespersen of the Danish Trade Council, Kent Martinussen of the Danish Architecture Centre and our own Wilhelm Berner-Nielsen in the role of chairman of the international committee of the Danish Association of Architectural Firms, which helped to make the reception both highly professional and distinctively different.

We enjoyed five days of spring sun, architectural communication, good food and lots of important meetings and networking across the boundaries of nationalities and professional skills.

The participating practices
AART, Arkitema, Creo, Henning Larsen Architects, Kasper Danielsen Architects, schmidt hammer lassen and Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects.
The campaign was organised by the Danish Association of Architectural Firms, and was carried out with support from the Danish Trade Council/ Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Architecture Centre and Copenhagen Capacity – with Eksportpromotion Denmark as operator.
