Alongside the motorways lie all too many examples of mediocre buildings – despite the fact that they are seen every day by thousands of people.

The T&O building beside the A 45 north of Randers has been praised by the committee behind the Randers Architecture Prize 2004 for making motorway driving an architectural experience: "Here is a building client who has sought to create something worth seeing, and who has been aware of the obligations imposed by such a high degree of public attention."

"The building is integrated into the motorway landscape, with a two-storey building body on the motorway side, and a more mundane production building behind this. The proportions and details of the facade building, especially around the gables, make it a beautiful sight even while driving by."
