The new three-storey company domicile of Base Erhverv consists of mixed office types, from private to open-plan. The project is part of Horsens Business Park South, a major development, in which the domicile comprises the second stage. The development is based on rectangular modules which can be combined in various ways, allowing the area to house office buildings of many different sizes and spatial configurations. The architectural vision for the area incorporates the wish to create variety and diversity within a framework which retains a number of basic qualities to secure harmony and wholeness. The building designs are thus based on a number of common features and principles which govern the orientation on the site, frontage lines, facade proportions, window design and depth of the building bodies. The domicile has been developed as a basic rectangle which operates within this framework. By displacing the building body in a lateral direction, this project steps out of the mass and highlights its special characteristics without thereby compromising the fundamental norms. The facade expresses simplicity in its form language and appearance, with the bright sandstone winding in a contiguous belt around the building. Within the belt, the dark, grey-brown window profiles with their integrated blind systems help to give the sandstone depth and contrast.
