House of Horizons

House of Horizons exists only in the virtual world Second Life, so the architects were not subject to the physical restrictions that normally apply to a building. The result is a structure which floats in the air.
The building design was inspired by the fantasy world "Naboo" from the Star Wars films, as well as by the structures that are formed when soap bubbles coalesce. These structures provide infinite expansion possibilities for the building volume, and at the same time create exciting and unusual spatial sequences. The variation in the size of the bubbles reflects the varying degrees of public access and the differing functions.
The transport infrastructure of the complex consists of a moving walkway by which visitors can be transported between the bubbles.
